Job summary

Snelling Staffing Lexington is seeking staff for food service roles focused on cooking and meal assembly for school programs. You will prepare meals to standard recipes, ensure safe temperatures, and maintain clean, well-organized kitchens.

The position requires basic math, English literacy, and adherence to safety standards. You will work with supervisors and school personnel in a fast-paced environment to deliver nutritious meals and reliable service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or one to three months’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read, understand and speak English to perform essential functions of the job.
• Ability to perform basic math operations including addition, subtraction, and fractions.
• Ability to follow safety and sanitation procedures at all times.

Responsibilities

• Prepare high quality food items according to standardized recipes or instructions to meet production, delivery and service schedules.
• Serve meals or prepare for delivery at proper temperatures, using correct portions and storing leftovers safely.
• Operate and maintain kitchen equipment as instructed.
• Assist in production planning, record keeping and reporting as required.
• Order supplies and food needed for area of responsibility and assist in receiving them.
• Follow correct safety and sanitation procedures at all times.
