Job summary

Lee County Middle High School in Beattyville, KY is hiring a Cook/Baker to prepare, cook, bake and serve foods for students and staff. You will maintain sanitary kitchen conditions, supervise others, and assist in inventory and meal service.

Reports to the Food Service Director and works full-time in a school cafeteria setting, following federal and state nutrition and safety standards. Prior food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Ability to prepare, cook, bake and serve foods in quantity.
• Maintain sanitation and safety in a school cafeteria.
• Assist in training and directing others.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake rolls, biscuits, breads, cakes, cookies and other baked goods.
• Prepare and cook meat dishes, vegetables and other main dishes.
• Monitor temperatures to ensure safety and quality.
• Serve food and replenish serving containers.
• Keep cafeteria area clean and compliant with safety procedures.
• Record foods prepared and amounts sold as directed.
