Job summary

Pulaski County Schools Nancy Elementary in Nancy, Kentucky is seeking a full-time Cook to prepare, cook, bake and serve a variety of foods in quantity at the school site; assist in other food preparation duties as directed; maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.

Education and experience: High school diploma or GED and one year cooking/baking in large quantities; must complete training for beginning school food personnel as prescribed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or progress toward GED.
• One year experience cooking and baking food in large quantities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake rolls, biscuits, breads, cakes, cookies and other baked goods.
• Prepare and cook meat dishes, vegetables and other main dishes; prepare salads, sandwiches, fruit, soups, sauces and other foods.
• Monitor temperatures to assure safety and quality standards are met.
• Serve food and replenish serving containers; handle money as needed.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as slicer, mixer, steamer, fryer, oven, and dishwasher.
• Train and provide work direction to others.
• Record amounts of food sold and monies collected; assist with inventory.
