Job summary

Wake County Public School System's Child Nutrition Services is seeking a Cashier Assistant to prepare, cook and serve meals and handle cashier duties in the school cafeteria. You will follow standardized recipes, record meals and manage money accurately.

The role requires a high school diploma, ServSafe certification within 90 days, and the ability to work Monday through Friday in a school setting; prior food service or cashier experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• ServSafe certification required within 90 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Experience in food service and/or cashiering is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals, salads, and a la-carte items according to recipes.
• Serve as cashier, collect money, and record meals and fees using the POS system.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining areas and follow sanitation codes.
• Assist in deposits and preparation of deposits as needed.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
