Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• ServSafe Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in food service and/or cashiering preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage cash/records.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook and serve meals, salads and a la-carte items according to recipes and maintain documentation of food preparation.
• Serve as cashier to collect money and record sales using a computerized POS system; monitor deposits and meal counts.
• Follow procedures for money exchange, deposits, and daily financial records.
• Participate in on-the-job training for federally reimbursable meals and serving line identification.
• Read and follow standardized recipes for school cafeteria meals.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and sanitation per codes; clean as scheduled.
• Assist with housekeeping duties in serving, receiving and dining areas.
• Adhere to Wake County Public School System (WCPSS) policies and the Nutrition Handbook.
• Provide effective customer service to students, parents, and staff.
