• Supervises and assists in preparation and cooking of food to ensure proper temperature, palatability, and appearance.
• Promotes the educational aspects of the program to students, teachers, and the community.
• Works with the manager in determining amounts of food and supplies to be purchased and checks delivery for accuracy.
• Instructs employees in the use and care of equipment.
• Maintains high sanitary and safety standards in preparation, serving, and storing food.
• Prepares and maintains food service records at the manager’s direction.
• Performs related duties as required or assigned
