Job summary

Mustang Public Schools' Mustang High School is seeking a Child Nutrition Full Time Cafeteria Assistant for the 2026-2027 school year. This role assists in portioning food, learns basic cooking areas, and operates kitchen equipment safely.

You will follow clean-as-you-go policies, help serve food, may assist as cashier, adjust recipes for quantity, and ensure compliance with district policies and safety standards. Starting date is immediate; Citizenship or work authorization required.

Qualifications

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required.

Responsibilities

• Assists in the preparation of food portions.
• Learns to cook in basic areas such as Main Dish, Salads, Vegetables, Bread and Desserts.
• Learns and operates all kitchen equipment with emphasis on safety.
• Follows a strict clean-as-you-go program and rotates cleanup assignments.
• Performs related duties as required.
• Ensures food is prepared and served in an attractive condition and takes action if not.
• Maintains neat appearance and proper uniform and footwear.
• Notifies manager if unable to report for work so a substitute can be arranged.
• May act as cashier during serving time.
• Adjusts recipes for quantity and reads work schedules.
• Abides by district policies and state and federal laws.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
