Job summary

The Cleveland Metropolitan School District is seeking a Food Service Assistant for the East Professional Center cafeteria. You will assist in serving meals, support student dining, and help maintain a clean and safe lunchroom environment.

In this role, you will work under the supervision of the Lunchroom Manager, provide friendly customer service to students, and help with basic kitchen and cafeteria duties as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; 5 years of food service experience preferred.
• Experience using Workday and Outlook in a food service setting.
• Experience working with children in a school environment is preferred.
• Good attendance, punctuality and a solid work record are expected.

Responsibilities

• Receive direction from the Director, Area Supervisor, or Lunchroom Manager.
• Assist children in opening packages as needed and encourage them to try new items.
• Keep serving areas clean and assist in food service duties as assigned.
• Maintain hygiene and safety standards and assist with basic cafeteria cleaning.
