Job summary

Enid Public Schools Garfield Elementary in Enid, Oklahoma, is seeking a Child Nutrition II worker to help serve nutritious meals to students. The role requires physical stamina, ability to lift up to 40 pounds, and adherence to sanitary practices in a busy cafeteria.

You will assist in meal preparation, help manage daily deposits and reports for the Child Nutrition Department, and perform cleaning duties across the cafeteria. This is a full-time, 170-day schedule within a school district.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift and pull up to 40 pounds daily.
• Must be able to stand on feet for long periods.
• Learn and successfully manage the financial duties for daily deposits and reports for the Child Nutrition Department.
• Assists in serving meals where assigned.
• Performs cleaning duties (sweeping, mopping, washing, cooking, and eating utensils).
• Performs related duties as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist manager and be helpful in all areas of work.
• Set up the counter as directed so that food can be served quickly and properly.
• See that hot food is served hot, and cold food is served cold.
• Follow recipes to prepare all items on the menu.
• Schedule food preparation so meals are ready for serving to students.
• Know and follow sanitary methods of handling food and practice good personal hygiene.
• May assist supervisor in ordering food and supplies.
• Attend in-service training as directed by Child Nutrition Department.
• Any other duties as requested by supervisor.
