Requires ninth grade or equivalent; HS diploma preferred. Training provided on-the-job; ability to lift 40–60 pounds and operate commercial kitchen

Qualifications

• Completion of ninth grade required; high school diploma preferred.
• Experience with food preparation techniques and safety procedures.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including lifting 40–60 pounds and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve food as part of the school meals program.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen facilities and equipment.
• Follow HACCP guidelines for safe food handling from receiving to service.
• Learn standard cafeteria operations and assist with inventory and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with students, staff and community.
