Job summary

Chevy Chase Elementary School is seeking an entry-level Food / Nutrition Services helper to assist in the production and serving of meals and to keep kitchen facilities clean. On-the-job training will cover basic food production and cafeteria operations from the manager and staff.

Physical demands include lifting 40–60 pounds and operating commercial equipment with continuous standing in a varied environment; certification in sanitation is required or to be obtained within six months.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic food production.
• Ability to follow HACCP guidelines for safe food handling from receiving to service.
• Ability to practice standard sanitation procedures for care and cleaning of kitchen equipment.
