Job summary

Washington County Public Schools seeks a Food Service Assistant at Maugansville Elementary School (Western Heights Base Kitchen) for a 10-month term, 3 hours daily from 10:45 am to 1:45 pm. You will support food preparation, service, and clean-up in a busy school kitchen.

Qualified candidates will demonstrate teamwork, reliability, and the ability to meet physical requirements, including standing and lifting up to 20 lbs. Serv-Safe certification or progress toward it within a year is required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work cooperatively with others and follow directions.
• Serv-Safe Certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
• Willingness to be assigned at any site within the base operation.
• Regular and predictable attendance.
• Prolonged standing and physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs as needed.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or assist in preparing food as assigned.
• Complete clean-up and dishwashing duties as assigned.
• Report food supply needs and problems to the Site Supervisor.
• Serve food to students and adults using portion control standards.
• Maintain a clean work area and operate kitchen equipment safely.
• Adhere to health, safety policies and dietary regulations.
