Job summary

G is seeking a Bus/Vehicle Technician responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining specialty vehicles and trucks. You will handle electrical systems, diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, and drivetrains, plus small repairs and documentation.

You will need an Associate's technical degree or two years of related experience, and a CDL class A or B (or ability to obtain one). Endorsements P and S or as required are expected. Medical examination clearance is required.

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree-Technical School OR two years of work-related experience.
  • Class A or B CDL, OR ability to obtain.
  • Endorsements: Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) or as Required.
  • Ability to pass medical examination.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair all systems in buses and other assets.
  • Work well in a team environment with other technicians.
  • Understand maintenance and repairs for gas- and diesel-powered vehicles and related systems.
  • Maintain cleanliness in workspace and adhere to standards.
  • Order parts and read technical drawings and catalogs.
  • Communicate effectively with technicians, supervisors, managers and customers.
  • Maintain efficiency, productivity and labor rate standards.
  • Learn new products and methods and mentor lower-level technicians.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by leadership.
