Job summary

Carrollton Farmers Branch Independent School District is seeking a Transportation - Training/Safety Specialist at the Service Center. The role trains drivers in safe operation of school buses, supports accident responses, and assists with student management and route safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, a current Texas School Bus Driver medical exam, DPS certification, a CDL with P and S endorsements, and a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High school Diploma or equivalent (ex: GED)
• Current Texas School Bus Driver medical examination.
• Current DPS certification for School Bus Drivers
• Current Texas Class "A" or "B" Commercial Driver's License, with "P" and "S" endorsements
• Driving record with 3 or less penalty points
• TEEX School Bus Driver Training the Trainer Program or TAPT Driver Trainer Academy preferred
• CPR certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Train School Bus Drivers to obtain a CDL and safely operate a school bus per state laws and district procedures.
• Train School Bus Monitors in student behavior management and the use of specialized equipment.
• Provide retraining and post-accident training focused on conditions and actions from investigations.
• Assist in evaluating whether employees meet district safety standards.
• Recommend safety training and programs based on observations and inspections.
• Coordinate monthly safety meetings with Transportation Manager.
• Inspect vehicles and report findings from loading/unloading zones and road observations.
• Maintain reports and documents required.
• Support transportation services by driving routes and trips as needed.
