Job summary

International Leadership of Texas is hiring a school bus driver to transport students along assigned routes and to activities, ensuring safety and on-time performance. The role requires a Texas CDL with P/S endorsements, DOT compliance, and effective communication with staff and families.

Responsibilities include pre/post-trip inspections, student supervision, and incident reporting, with coordination via two-way radio.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid Texas commercial driver’s license with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
• Able to pass DOT alcohol and drug tests and annual physical exam.
• Complete required school bus driver safety training.
• Follow written and verbal instructions and route schedules.
• Use maps and GPS to follow routes and locate addresses.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Operate and drive the school bus safely.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus daily along assigned route and on schedule.
• Transport students to extracurricular activities.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections and report issues.
• Report accidents or mechanical problems with reports.
• Instruct students on entering/exiting safely and supervising boarding.
• Maintain discipline and communicate with teachers/parents.
• Assist with emergency evacuations when necessary.
• Follow traffic laws and safety procedures.
• Ensure emergency equipment is functional.
• Report hazardous conditions along scheduled route.
• Operate two-way radio to coordinate with transportation office.
• Maintain records of mileage, fuel, passengers.
