Job summary

Powell County Bus Garage in Stanton, Kentucky seeks a Bus Monitor to assist a school bus driver, help with loading, unloading and seating, and ensure student safety during transit.

Starting immediately, the Bus Monitor will maintain records, follow emergency procedures, and coordinate with teachers and parents to support daily transportation operations under the Director of Transportation.

Qualifications

• Safe practices concerning school bus transportation.
• Basic record-keeping techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline on the bus and monitor students.
• Document student information, complete route surveys and keep records.
• Ensure seat belts and wheelchair clamps are secured as required.
• Assist with safe loading and unloading of students and seating arrangements.
• Assist with emergency or medical issues of students while on the bus.
