Job summary

Powell County Bus Garage in Stanton, KY is seeking a Substitute Van Driver to operate a school van on designated routes, pick up and discharge students, and ensure safety on every trip.

You will perform daily inspections, maintain records, and communicate with school officials, parents, and the transportation team. A valid Kentucky driver's license and a minimum of one year driving experience are required. This is a full-time position within the Powell County Schools transportation system.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or progress toward GED as required by Kentucky law.
• One year experience operating a motor vehicle.
• Valid Kentucky driver's license and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school van on designated routes following schedules and laws.
• Transport students to and from school, events and field trips.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and basic maintenance.
• Maintain order and discipline among students on the van.
• Report any safety concerns or incidents to the transportation team.
• Assist in loading and unloading of students as needed.
• Maintain appropriate records of routes, mileage and passengers.
