Job summary

North America Central School Bus is seeking a Bus Aide to support drivers on routes in Nampa, Idaho. The role focuses on student management, safety checks, and aiding with boarding/unboarding, including wheelchair lifts.

Responsibilities include assisting with pre-trip/post-trip inspections, communicating with school staff, parents and students, and participating in safety trainings and emergency evacuations.

• Perform all job functions in the safest manner adhering to OSHA guidelines & other applicable Federal & State laws

• Ability to use or learn to use internet, additional programs as required and office equipment, including fax and phones or other electronic devices

Responsibilities

• Assist the driver in the safe operation of the route and manage students as defined/identified by school.
• Learn and follow a route sheet or electronic routing device.
• Assist in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS and wheelchair lifts
• Assist students in loading and unloading, including wheelchair lift
• Cooperate and communicate with school personnel, parents and students.
• Attend safety and training meetings.
• Conduct emergency evacuations from the bus, including exit through emergency door.
• Clean the inside of the bus including sweeping, dusting and windows.
• Perform other specialized functions as required by contract.
