Job summary

Dean Transportation in Kalamazoo, MI is seeking a School Bus Monitor to safely assist students and work with drivers during transportation to and from school and events, including sports and community activities.

No prior experience is required, and paid training is provided. Flexible scheduling is available, subject to operational needs, with benefits packages for eligible employees and a 401(k) retirement plan after one year of service.

Qualifications

• Meet all general qualifications for employment.
• Meet company, state, and school district standards for criminal history check.
• Meet physical examination requirements.
• Pass drug and alcohol screening as established by company.
• Successfully complete position-specific training as established by company.

Responsibilities

• Safely care for and protect student passengers.
• Conduct emergency evacuation drills as required.
• Instruct passenger riders regarding safety.
• Establish favorable working relationships with school bus drivers, office and maintenance personnel, other bus attendants, student passengers, parents, teachers, principals, and total school or program staff.
• Achieve self-improvement by attending training sessions, annual in-service, and workshops conducted by Dean Transportation and/or other approved agencies.
