Qualifications

• Knowledge of the Duval County School District Transportation policies and procedures.
• Knowledge of Duval County streets, sections, and geographical makeup.
• Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong mathematical skills.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply provisions of school bus provider contracts.
• Ability to read, understand, and apply Federal, State, and local guidelines related to pupil transportation.

Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, and maintains bus routes using routing software with field input.
• Makes projections for routing needs and develops new routes for programs and boundary changes.
• Conducts bus audits for operator procedural compliance.
• Collects route and rider information from operators and contractors.
• Analyzes bus stop locations for student safety and access by bus.
• Facilitates route changes at schools and assists staff with implementation.
• Supports loading/unloading procedures and data collection for traffic flow.
• Surveys routes and stops to maximize route efficiency and ridership.
