Job summary

The School District of Lee County in Fort Myers, FL is seeking a Transportation Router I to help develop and maintain efficient bus routes, input and update transportation data, and support routine routing operations.

Qualifications include an Associate’s degree and proficiency with Microsoft Office; bilingual candidates (Spanish, Portuguese, or Creole) are preferred. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree from an accredited institution.
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency with personal computers and software applications including but not limited to Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining efficient bus routes for Special Centers under the guidance of a Senior Router or supervisor.
• Input and update student transportation data, stop locations, bell schedules, and special program information.
• Make routine route adjustments based on enrollment changes, address updates, and school assignments.
• Verify accuracy of route sheets, stop times, and driver instructions.
• Respond to routine inquiries from schools, parents, and transportation staff regarding bus stops and schedules.
• Provide assistance to higher-level routers on complex routing projects or data audits.
• Maintain accurate records of route changes, stop requests, and assignment updates.
• Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA and other applicable regulations.
• Use two-way communication devices to relay route adjustments to operators.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
