Job summary

Putnam County Schools in West Virginia seeks a Bus Operator (S1967) to operate school buses and transportation vehicles per state rules. The role requires a valid Class B CDL with Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements, a high school diploma or GED, and WV School Bus Operator’s Certificate.

Employment is 200 days with early AM and late PM routes. The operator will perform pre-trip inspections, safety checks, and adhere to the district’s transportation handbook.

Qualifications

• Holds a high school diploma or GED or TASC.
• Holds a Commercial Driver’s License, Class B, Passenger and Airbrake Endorsements.
• Passes the required physical examination.
• Has three years of experience as a licensed driver.
• Passes the DMV Driving Record Check.
• Passes the Drug/Alcohol Screening.
• Completes 40 hours of classroom training and 20 hours of behind the wheel training.
• Holds First Aid/CPR Certification.
• Holds a West Virginia School Bus Operator’s Certificate.

Responsibilities

• The School Bus Operator shall have the responsibilities and duties as outlined in The Putnam County Schools Job Description Handbook.
• Location And Length Of Route(s) May Vary Determined by Coordinator of Transportation.
• Dependent Upon the number and/or location of students requiring transportation services.
