Job summary

Fairfax County Public Schools seeks a Bus Supervisor to oversee bus drivers and transportation attendants within a team, coordinating operations, distributing/collecting forms, and interpreting procedures; driving a bus when needed to meet operational needs.

Responsibilities include guiding drivers on routes, maintaining safety, communicating with staff, and supporting field trips and maintenance procedures, with a focus on student safety and efficient service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent.
• 1 year of bus driver or floater driving experience.
• Certified first aid/CPR/AED or ability to obtain.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
• CDL-B with P and S endorsements and air brakes required.
• Minimum age 21; successful FCPS bus driver training.
• Pre-employment physical and annual medical clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise bus drivers and transportation attendants within a team.
• Drive a bus as required by operational needs.
• Assist with driving routes and distribute/collect attendance and reports.
• Explain route descriptions and provide guidance to drivers.
• Serve as communications link between drivers and supervisors.
• Support field trips, supply delivery, and basic maintenance explanations.
