Burke County Schools in Morganton, NC seeks a skilled School Bus Mechanic to inspect and repair our fleet of 750+ yellow buses and support vehicles. You’ll diagnose, troubleshoot, and rebuild mechanical and electrical components on medium to heavy diesel equipment, with supervisory duties possible for senior roles.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, 2+ years in diesel repair, ASE certifications preferred, and a valid NC Class B CDL with School Bus endorsements.

Competenze

• High school diploma or GED.
• General knowledge and proven skills in the repair of medium to heavy diesel equipment.
• At least two years of experience in medium to heavy diesel equipment and repair; ASE certifications may substitute for experience.

Mansioni

• Perform diagnostics and troubleshooting on buses and service trucks.
• Repair and rebuild mechanical and electrical components on medium to heavy diesel buses, trucks, and other equipment.
• Provide guidance and potential supervision to other mechanics and prepare labor/parts/materials reports as needed.
