The New Braunfels Chamber is seeking an experienced diesel/heavy vehicle mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on district buses and support vehicles. You will diagnose problems, perform repairs, and assist with preventive maintenance in a busy shop environment.

Qualifications include a Class B CDL or Class A with Passenger/School Bus Endorsements, Texas Bus Driver Certification, and at least two years of mechanic experience. Must provide own hand tools and able to lift heavy parts.

Qualificações

• Two years experience as mechanic
• Must provide own hand tools to repair a wide variety of vehicles
• Ability to diagnose mechanical problems and perform repairs with general supervision
• Ability to operate equipment and tools involved in vehicle repair
• Ability to lift heavy equipment and vehicle parts
• Ability to pass alcohol and drug test
• Ability to pass bus driver physical exam
• Ability to pass required bus driver safety training
• Acceptable driving record
• Ability to operate bus

Responsabilidades

• Use diagnostic equipment to evaluate mechanical problems in vehicles.
• Perform mechanical repairs as needed.
• Complete major repairs.
• Do welding and minor bodywork.
• Diagnose A/C systems.
• Diagnose electrical systems.
• Assist the mechanics helper with minor repairs and provide training when needed.
• Perform preventive maintenance on shop equipment according to schedules.
