Job summary

Ector County Independent School District Transportation - ODESSA in Odessa, Texas is seeking a Vehicle Service Attendant to maintain fluid levels, inspect belts and hoses, and support bus operations. The role requires a Class B CDL with P and S endorsements or eligibility for certification and may include driving a school bus route as needed.

The position is non-exempt, full-time, with duties across shop support and summer tasks.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Attention to detail.
Ability to follow instructions.
Possess or obtain a Class B CDL with “P” & “S” endorsements.
Have or be eligible for state certification as a school bus driver.
Vehicle preventive maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

Check and maintain all fluid levels on Transportation vehicle.
Visually inspect belts and hoses for wear.
Inform the Shop Foreman and/or Lead Mechanic of any potential mechanical problems.
Record odometer readings and amounts of fuel, fluid, and oil used in each vehicle, record an accurate reading of school bus fuel gauges.
Clean pump islands, bus parking stalls, and compound as needed.
Work in other areas as needed in the summer time, wash bay, etc.
Ensure that all out of town trip buses have been fueled and checked for proper fluid levels, hose leaks, or worn belts.
Keep pump filters changed to ensure good operations and clean fuel.
Drive a school bus route as needed.
Any other duties as assigned.
