Job summary

Ector County ISD Transportation in Odessa, TX seeks a Bus Washer to keep district buses and vehicles clean. This non-exempt role reports to the Shop Supervisor and requires or aims for a Class B CDL with P and S endorsements and state school bus driver certification.

Starting immediately, duties include washing, interior/exterior cleaning, and maintaining the bus wash machine. Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, previous experience with vehicle washing equipment, and knowledge of steam

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain the cleanliness of district vehicles, including buses.
• Operate and maintain the bus wash machine safely throughout the year.
• Wash exterior, interior, and windows of buses and ECISD vehicles.
• Follow a bus wash schedule for all route buses and assist as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Transportation Operations Manager.

Supervises:

Primary Purpose: To keep all Ector County ISD vehicles clean . Drive a school bus route as needed.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification: High School Diploma GED preferred. Possess or obtain a class B CDL with "P" & "S" endorsements; have or be eligible for state certification as a school bus driver.

Special Knowledge Skills:

Knowledge of steam cleaning equipment, vehicle/bus wash machine.

Experience:

Previous experience with vehicle washing equipment preferred

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

Maintain the cleanliness of school buses and all district vehicles. Maintain bus wash machine throughout the year in a safe and efficient manner. Wash all trip buses as needed. Follow a bus wash schedule for all route buses. Use machinery with moving parts. Must sweep, mop, and use a hand brush for scrubbing as necessary. Must wash exterior, interior, and clean windows of buses and ECISD vehicles. Must perform all other duties assigned by the Transportation Operations Manager.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Manage students while driving a bus.

Working Conditions: Must work on slippery/uneven surfaces, work with cleaning solvents, as well as body fluids when the situation presents itself. Must be able to handle extreme weather conditions.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Maintain emotional control under stress. Frequent districtwide and statewide travel; occasional prolonged or irregular hours.
