Job summary

Dean Transportation seeks a School Bus Fleet Mechanic to maintain district buses and support vehicles. You will diagnose and repair diesel and gasoline engines, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems, with on-site service and occasional parts installation.

Qualifications

Vehicle maintenance experience required.
Technical school degree in diesel/automotive preferred.
3–5 years of vehicle maintenance experience or equivalent.
Must hold or obtain ASE licenses in Heavy Duty Brakes, Suspension & Steering, Diesels, Drive Train, Electrical.
May be certified in Computer Electronic Engine and Transmission Diagnostics.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs per OEM guidelines and regulations.
Inspect, diagnose root causes, and repair defects in diesel/gas engines and braking systems.
On-site repairs and service calls as needed.
Install accessories such as radios, cameras, GPS systems.
Order parts and manage inventory; communicate with drivers and staff.
Assist with safety inspections and state police inspections.
