Job summary

Durham School Services is looking for a Fleet Technician I to support our school bus fleet in Fairbanks, Alaska. This role involves advanced diagnostics, inspections, and repairs ensuring safe and timely bus routes. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years experience in medium/heavy truck repair, knowledge of diagnostic tools, and the ability to work effectively in a team.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years medium/heavy truck fleet mechanic repair experience.
• Knowledgeable in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and A/C issues.
• Valid state license (CDL preferred).

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive and diesel systems.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives.
• Complete required safety inspections before releasing vehicles.
• Log labor hours and parts used in the maintenance system.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs as needed.
