Job summary

Summit School Services LLC is seeking a Fleet Tech II to diagnose and repair school bus vehicles, covering diesel and gasoline systems, brakes, steering, and drivetrains. You will work with Lead Technician to ensure safe, on-time routes while maintaining a compliant workspace and accurate labor logs.

Requirements include 3+ years of mechanic repair experience and proficiency with diagnostic equipment; CDL is preferred with company support to obtain it.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years of light/medium/heavy-duty mechanical repair experience.
• Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
• Valid state license; CDL preferred with company training to obtain CDL.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive and diesel systems including brakes, steering, suspension, drivetrains, electrical, cooling, and fuel systems.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives to verify repairs.
• Complete required safety inspections and repair sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Maintain safe, organized, and compliant workspace per Federal, State, and local standards.
• Log labor hours, parts used, and completed work accurately in the maintenance system.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs as needed.
