Job summary

Summit School Services is seeking a Fleet Tech II to diagnose and repair medium/heavy vehicles used in transporting students. You will handle brakes, steering, electrical, HVAC, and drivetrains, work with the Lead Technician, and ensure routes depart on time with safe, compliant work.

Qualifications include 3+ years of mechanic experience, proficiency with diagnostic tools, and a CDL preferred. The role emphasizes safety, documentation, and responsiveness to road calls and mobile repair needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of light/medium/heavy-duty mechanic repair experience.
• Proficient with diagnostic equipment to identify mechanical, electrical, and A/C issues.
• Diesel equipment experience required; gasoline systems familiarity a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair automotive and diesel systems according to skill level.
• Perform engine adjustments, rebuilds, and test drives to verify quality repairs.
• Complete required safety inspections and repair sign-offs before releasing vehicles.
• Log labor hours, parts used, and completed work accurately in the maintenance system.
• Respond to road calls and perform mobile repairs when needed.
• Model professionalism, teamwork, and integrity in every task.
