Ballard Community School District is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Specialist to maintain, repair, and inspect the school district's transportation fleet, ensuring compliance with safety standards. The role includes possible route driving, coordinating with the Transportation Director, and maintaining records and inventory.

The ideal candidate has a valid Iowa CDL, fleet experience, and skills in diagnostics, electrical, and AC systems, with a strong focus on safety and teamwork.

Qualificações

• Valid Iowa CDL license.
• Have previous fleet experience and are familiar with diesel and gasoline systems.
• Diagnostic, Electrical, and AC skills.
• Knowledge of labor laws and regulations.
• ASE Certification is desirable but not required
• Ability to interpret technical manuals and service bulletins
• Strong organizational, communication and problem solving skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must pass background check and drug screening per district and state regulations

Responsabilidades

• Maintain all district-owned equipment and develop plans for preventive maintenance.
• Determine maintenance needs of the district fleet of buses and equipment.
• Maintain safety standards in conformance with state and insurance regulations.
• Maintain equipment maintenance records and repair data.
• Maintain accurate financial records for parts and maintenance expenditures.
• Maintain a current inventory of supplies and equipment.
• Possess knowledge and application of state and federal transportation rules and guidelines.
• Promote high standards of safety and good housekeeping methods in all work-connected areas and for all of the school buses.
• Demonstrate organization and professionalism in fulfilling the responsibilities of the job.
• Develop recommendations for future equipment purchases.
• Serve as a route bus driver, as needed
