Job summary

The American School for the Deaf (ASD) located in West Hartford, CT, is hiring a Driver to transport students under the supervision of the Transportation Coordinator. The role is 12 months – benefits eligible, with flexible hours including evenings and some weekends.

Qualified candidates hold a CDL-C with required endorsements, a valid license and medical card, plus the ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Sign language skills are preferred but not mandatory.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s License.
• CDL-C with V or S Endorsement for Student Transportation Vehicle; Air Brake endorsement required.
• Current Medical Card.
• Ability to load and unload luggage; lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Drive school vehicle(s) to transport students safely.
• Complete end of trip reports and logs.
• Participate in required training.
• Communicate with students, staff and parents as appropriate.
