Job summary

St. Joseph Academy in Milwaukee, WI is seeking a school bus driver to transport students and staff safely and professionally.

Responsibilities include following designated routes and schedules, loading and unloading students, maintaining order on the bus, and performing routine vehicle inspections. A CDL, CPR/First Aid, and a clean driving record are required; relevant experience with children is preferred, and Spanish bilingual skills are a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Bilingual Spanish preferred but not required.
• Ability to analyze an issue, identify options, and implement solutions.
• Ability to communicate and effectively interact with children, their family members, management, and staff members.
• Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
• Two or more years of experience working with children preferred.
• Must have a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
• Clean driving record with no at-fault accidents or traffic citations within the last five years.
• Clean driving record with no driving under the influence convictions.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation in accordance with academy policy and procedure as well as local, state and federal laws and regulations.
• Follow designated routes accurately, in accordance with time schedules and stops.
• Conduct safe and orderly loading and unloading of students.
• Maintain order and discipline on the school bus at all times.
• Perform routine operator maintenance including but not limited to: pre/post inspections, sweeping interior, wiping upholstery, cleaning windshields, and reporting equipment defects.
• Operate a school bus or other district vehicles safely at all times.
• Operate vehicles during inclement weather.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
