Job summary

University School of Milwaukee is seeking a dedicated School Bus Driver to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of students during daily routes, field trips, and athletic transportation. You will operate a clean, safe bus, maintain routes, and ensure child safety restraints are used at all times.

The role requires a CDL with S and P endorsements; you must pass a Wisconsin school bus physical, background check, and demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Possesses a current CDL and a School Bus Driver's Permit with S and P endorsements.
• Ability to pass annual Wisconsin School Bus Driver’s physical with a drug test.
• Must pass background checks and fingerprints as required by state agencies.

Responsibilities

• Ensures the safety and well-being of all passengers on daily routes, field trips, and athletic transportation.
• Completes daily bus inspections and reports safety concerns to the Transportation Coordinator.
• Maintains accurate trip reports including mileage and fuel receipts.
• Follows traffic laws and school transportation policies; reports violations promptly.
• Ensures child safety restraints are used and proper loading/unloading procedures are followed.
• Inspects emergency and first aid supplies and conducts monthly evacuation drills.
• Maintains license, medical certificates, and endorsements; performs other duties as assigned.
