Job summary

Manassas Park City Schools seeks a School Bus Driver to transport students on routes and field trips. A Virginia CDL with school bus endorsement and a clean driving record are required. The role includes supervising students, performing inspections, and ensuring safety.

Essential duties include loading/unloading assistance, safety drills, and communication with the Transportation Director. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with regular school-day hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of driving experience with a valid driver's license required.
• Must hold a valid Virginia CDL with a school bus and passenger endorsement.
• Must pass DOT physical, drug and alcohol testing, and tuberculosis screening.
• Maintain driving record requirements and CPR certification as mandated.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and ability to understand English; Spanish helpful.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students on/off the bus.

Responsibilities

• Transports passengers on scheduled routes and field trips safely and timely.
• Monitors students to maintain safety and compliance with district policies.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure safe vehicle condition.
• Assist students with loading/unloading, including those using mobility devices.
• Responds to inquiries from students, parents, and staff and reports incidents as needed.
• Attends training sessions and safety meetings to maintain certifications.
• Conducts emergency evacuation drills and ensures passenger safety.
• Maintains order and discipline on the bus and reports conduct as necessary.
