Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools Transportation Department is seeking a School Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from school and on field trips. A CDL Class B with P and School Bus endorsements is required or obtainable, along with a High School diploma or GED.

The role offers partial benefits including prorated holidays, sick leave, and annual leave. Strong safety, communication, and inspection skills are essential for daily operations.

Qualifications

• CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, or ability to obtain.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Experience as a bus driver, preferably in a school district transporting children.
• Knowledge of traffic laws and pre-trip inspections.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Responsabilités

• Safely drives a school bus on designated routes on school days per schedules.
• Transports students, staff and others on field trips.
• Inspects bus daily before passenger transport to ensure safe operation.
• Keeps bus clean and ensures a working communication device.
• Reports mechanical issues or accidents promptly and maintains order among students.
