Job summary

Chapel Hill- Carrboro City Schools is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport students and staff to and from school and on field trips. The role requires daily pre-trip checks, adherence to schedules, and maintaining orderly conduct per district policies.

The position reports to the Director of Transportation, operates on a 12-month schedule, and ensures a clean, well-maintained bus and proper functioning communication devices for each trip.

Qualifications

• Possess valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
• Ability to safely transport students on designated routes.
• Ability to maintain order and discipline per district policies.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on days when school is in session over designated routes.
• Transports students, teachers and others on field trips.
• Inspects the bus daily before transporting passengers.
• Cleans the bus as needed.
• Ensures communication device is functioning prior to each trip.
• Reports mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations, or accidents promptly.
• Maintains orderly conduct among students per district policies.
