Qualifications

• Education: GED or High School Diploma.
• Experience: Operation of large passenger vehicles; ability to manage student behavior.
• License: Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with class P (passenger) and S (school bus) endorsements.
• Safety training: Completed bus driver safety training course.
• Age: Must be over 21 years old.
• Testing: Pass alcohol and drug tests.
• DOT Physical Examination.

Responsibilities

• Drives a school bus safely on time schedules; transports students to and from homes, school sites, and on field trips as assigned.
• Maintains order and proper discipline of passengers; resolves disputes; documents and reports severe disciplinary cases.
• Conducts daily safety and operating inspections of the assigned vehicle.
