Job summary

The Cherry Creek School District is seeking a Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from home, between schools, and on district-sponsored trips, ensuring timely arrivals and adherence to route schedules.

Duties include monitoring stops for passenger safety, performing pre/post-trip vehicle inspections, handling routine office tasks when not driving, and communicating clearly with students and staff during emergencies.

Qualifications

• HSE diploma or equivalent is required.
• CDL Class B with P and S endorsements required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Criminal background check and fingerprinting required.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus to transport students over assigned routes safely and efficiently. After routes, perform office tasks as needed (Daily).
• Regulate heating, lighting, and ventilation for passenger comfort (Daily).
• Report delays or accidents (Daily).
• Perform pre/post-trip inspections per Colorado standards (Daily).
• Load/unload students at stops (Daily).
• Conduct student discipline as needed (Daily).
• Communicate emergencies to students, staff, and others (Daily).
• Wait at assigned locations between routes (Daily).
• Participate in evacuation drills as required (Annual).
• Participate in required training (Annual).
• Perform other duties as assigned (Daily).

Education

High School Equivalency (HSE) diploma

CDL Class B with P (passenger) and S (school bus) endorsement

CPR and First Aid certification
