Job summary

Fond du Lac Band of Lake Superior Chippewa Transport is seeking a Transportation Driver to operate scheduled school routes in line with the school calendar. A thorough safety and maintenance check is required before each trip, and the vehicle interior is cleaned after trips.

The role requires a Class B CDL with school bus endorsement, a US driver’s license, and the ability to follow safety procedures and traffic laws. Travel is required, and candidates must pass screenings and background checks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Class B Driver’s License with a school bus endorsement is required; if not licensed at hire, licensure must occur within 90 days and be maintained.
• Valid Driver’s License issued in the US is required.
• Eligibility determined by FDL's insurance company.
• Subject to drug and alcohol testing.
• Subject to pre-employment and annual background checks.
• Travel is required.

Responsibilities

• Drive all scheduled student days per the school calendar.
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks before each trip.
• Clean interior after morning, afternoon, and extracurricular trips.
• Ensure participant safety while in transit.
• Instruct participants on safety procedures for riding in the van.
• Obey state and local traffic laws.
• Follow Transportation Department safety policies and procedures.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance and usage records.
