Job summary

Connally ISD is seeking a school bus driver to operate a school bus and related equipment for safe student transportation on assigned routes and to events. You will perform vehicle inspections, maintain safety protocols, and ensure orderly conduct of students during transit.

The role requires a Texas CDL with P and S endorsements, ability to pass DOT tests, and strong communication skills to coordinate with staff and parents. Daily driving and occasional long hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years or older.
• Texas commercial driver's license with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Must pass DOT alcohol/drug tests and annual physical exam.
• Must complete bus driver safety training.
• Must follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must be able to use maps and GPS to follow routes and addresses.
• Must manage student behavior.
• Must communicate effectively with others.
• Must be able to operate a school bus.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus daily along assigned route with adherence to schedules.
• Transport students to extracurricular activities and designated locations.
• Anticipate and respond to traffic, weather, and route changes to ensure safety.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections and report needed repairs.
• Keep bus clean and fuel levels adequate.
• Report accidents, damage, injuries, and mechanical issues.
