Job summary

Fort Worth ISD is seeking a part-time Bus Driver to operate school buses on assigned routes, ensuring safe transportation for students and authorized persons. The role requires strict adherence to schedules, safety checks, and quiet classroom management as students board and exit.

The driver will perform pre/post trip inspections, communicate via two-way radio, and report any incidents promptly. A Texas CDL with appropriate endorsements and a physical examination are required; bilingual

Qualifications

• Accredited high school diploma or GED required.
• Texas CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements; must pass safety training.
• Experience as bus driver in a school district or transporting children preferred; clean driving record.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred in some settings.
• Must pass annual physical and 8-hour Bus Driver Safety Training.

Responsibilities

• Drive bus daily on assigned routes and follow schedules to transport students safely.
• Instruct students on safety rules, supervise boarding and exiting, and manage behavior.
• Operate and monitor two-way radio; ensure communication devices work before each trip.
• Complete and maintain records such as mileage, fuel use, and passenger counts.
• Attend trainings and professional development as required.
• Observe traffic laws and safety regulations; ensure bus safety equipment is functional.
