Job summary

The Lamar County School District is seeking a Bus Driver to provide safe transportation for students on daily routes, assist with boarding and deboarding, and follow district safety plans.

Responsibilities include pre-trip inspections, maintaining routes, reporting hazards, enforcing rules, completing reports, and participating in safety trainings. Candidates must have a high school diploma, CDL with P and S endorsements, pass background checks, agility test, and DOT/Non-DOT physical.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required and valid CDL with P and S endorsements or ability to obtain.
• Must pass background check, agility test, and DOT/Non-DOT physical.
• Good driving records and ability to follow district safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the school bus.
• Safely transport students, assist with boarding and exiting.
• Maintain routes and schedules as set by the local school board.
• Enforce student discipline and report incidents to the principal.
• Report hazards, mechanical issues, and delays to Transportation Director.
• Participate in semi-annual safety training and evacuations.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct.
