Job summary

Marin Horizon School in Mill Valley, CA, seeks a School Bus Driver to start mornings with student pickup and transport them safely home after school. The role may include driving field trips and events as needed.

The driver will ensure student safety, perform pre-trip inspections, maintain calm discipline on board, and coordinate with the Transportation Director to address issues and scheduling.

Qualifications

• CDL (Class A/B) with P and S endorsements, Air Brakes endorsement, CHP certificate and First Aid/CPR certification are required.
• DOT drug testing compliance is required.
• Customer service mindset and related experience are valued.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with Transportation Director about daily routes and schedules.
• Drives a school bus on designated routes; transports students to/from stops and events.
• Assists children with disabilities, including loading/unloading and securing seats.
• Maintains bus discipline and reports disciplinary issues to the Transportation Director.
• Performs pre-trip safety inspections and ensures bus readiness per laws.
• Prepares and maintains route books, mileage sheets, and student records.
• Maintains DMV, insurance, and vehicle inspection records.
• Schedules and completes training and coordinates repairs as needed.
