Job summary

Harrison School District 2 is seeking a school bus driver to operate assigned routes and other driving duties in Colorado Springs. You will ensure passenger safety, enforce district rules, and provide assistance to students as needed.

Responsibilities include vehicle pre-inspections, maintaining route documentation, and participating in training to uphold CDL certification and district/state requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• 0-2 years' experience driving a bus or truck preferred.
• First Aid, CPR and nonviolent crisis intervention training required within 90 days of hire.
• CDL Class B with P2S endorsement preferred; DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening required.
• Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.

Responsibilities

• Transport passengers between home, school, and other routes safely under all weather conditions.
• Perform pre-inspection of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
• Educate students on bus rules and enforce district policy; report disciplinary issues.
• Assist passengers with entering/exiting the bus and accommodate disabled students.
• Inspect safety equipment and maintain logs for routes and incidents.
• Submit work requests for vehicle repairs; monitor fuel and fluids.
• Disinfect vehicle interior/exterior to prevent spread of illness.
• Participate in training sessions and assist in driver training for others.

Education

High School Diploma or equivalent

0-2 years' driving bus experience

First Aid, CPR, and nonviolent crisis intervention training

Commercial Driver's License Class B with P2S endorsement

DOT physical and drug/alcohol screening

Criminal background check and fingerprinting
