Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Alabama bus license (ABL) and CDL with P/S endorsement.
• ALDOT Health Card or School Bus Physical as required.
• Ability to meet suitability criteria under Alabama law.
• Acceptable motor vehicle record and insurability.
• Ability to pass drug testing.
• Strong written and verbal communication.
• Ability to operate a school vehicle on a fixed route and schedule.
• Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds and physical duties as required.
• Punctuality and consistent attendance.
• Compliance with state/federal regulations and board policies.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates support for the school system and priorities.
• Adheres to traffic laws and driving safety rules.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections and reports as required.
• Maintains a clean bus and discipline on board.
• Reports incidents and accidents per procedures.
• Transports students to field trips and events as assigned.
• Maintains confidentiality and follows transportation department policies.
• Attends trainings and prepares required reports.
