Job summary

Mountain Brook Schools is seeking a full-time School Bus Driver to transport students safely to and from school and activities on a preplanned route. The driver will inspect the bus, adhere to all laws, and cooperate with school personnel on seating and safety rules.

The role requires a valid Alabama CDL and bus driver certificate, a minimum 21 years old, and a high school diploma or GED. Candidates must pass health requirements and participate in emergency drills and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver’s license issued by the State of Alabama.
• Valid bus driver’s certificate issued by the State of Alabama.
• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• High school graduate or equivalent (GED).
• Physical every two years or as required by the Board of Education.

Responsibilities

• Transports students to and from schools or activities following a preplanned route and schedule.
• Inspects bus before operation and reports mechanical issues.
• Drives with care and follows traffic laws.
• Maintains order and discipline on the bus.
• Participates in emergency evacuation drills and training.
• Keeps records and assists in planning routes and schedules.
• Keeps the bus clean and maintains safety and public relations.
