Job summary

RSU 2 in Maine is seeking reliable school bus drivers for the upcoming year. The role offers a minimum of 20 hours per week with employer-paid benefits and a 186-day schedule, including 176 student days, 3 non-student workshop days, and 7 paid holidays. Start date is August 2026.

Applicants must have a Maine school bus license with endorsements, pass background checks, a physical, and a pre-employment drug test. Strong communication with staff, students and parents is essential.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Maine school bus driver's license with proper endorsements.
• Background check/fingerprinting (CHR-C) from the Department of Education required.
• Must pass annual physical examination and pre-employment drug/alcohol test.
• Ability to drive in adverse conditions (wind, rain, snow, sleet).
• Ability to work with school staff, the public, students and passengers.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus safely for students on a daily schedule.
• Adhere to the 186-day work year and 20+ hours per week minimum.
• Collaborate with school staff and communicate with families as needed.
