Job summary

Bradford Academy is seeking a responsible substitute school bus driver to transport students safely to and from various destinations, while maintaining a secure and orderly bus environment. You will collaborate with staff to ensure efficient drop-off and pickup procedures and report any safety concerns promptly.

The role requires 18+ years of age, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid CDL with endorsements, along with DOT and MDE compliance.

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Meet all requirements established by the Department of Transportation and Michigan Department of Education.
Valid driver's license with necessary endorsements.
Exemplary work habits and punctuality preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operates a school bus as a substitute driver, adhering to designated schedules.
Supervises loading/unloading of students and ensures safe release to authorized individuals.
Maintains order and discipline among passengers and documents disciplinary incidents as needed.
Conducts accident investigations when required and reports issues promptly.
Ensures bus cleanliness, reports mechanical issues, and performs routine maintenance tasks.
Collaborates with parents, staff, and supervisors to optimize drop-off/pickup schedules and routes.
